Building with Nature (BwN) Alignment
Copy-Ready Wording
The Self-Sustaining Garden programme is not a Building with Nature intervention and does not contribute to assessment or accreditation. It supports residents with clear, practical guidance that helps maintain soil health, planting establishment and low-impact use of private gardens, reducing behaviours that can undermine the long-term performance of Green Infrastructure.
Note: This wording is for narrative use in supporting landscape, GI or ecology documents. It should not be included in any formal Building with Nature assessment, evidence pack or accreditation submission.
What Building with Nature Covers
Building with Nature 2.0 sets out twelve Standards across four themes — Core, Wellbeing, Water and Wildlife — defining high-quality Green Infrastructure. While BwN focuses on design, delivery and long-term management at the project level, the Self-Sustaining Garden programme operates separately by supporting everyday garden care once homes are occupied.
